Participant Agreement & Liability Waiver.
This Participant Agreement (“Agreement”) is made between Rebel Yoga Retreats and the retreat leaders (hereafter referred to as “we,” “us,” or “our”), and the person reserving through this website (hereafter referred to as “Participant,” “Client,” “Guest,” or “you,” and collectively, the “Parties”). The purpose of this Agreement is to outline the expectations, obligations, and responsibilities of both Parties.
Retreat Details
We agree to host guests at Aldeia Rizoma, Paraty, during the retreat dates of May 1–8, 2027.
Included in the Retreat Fee:
- 7 nights’ accommodation at Aldeia Rizoma
- Daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner
- Coffee, tea, and water
- Round-trip transfers from Ipanema Beach to the retreat venue (within specified arrival/departure times)
- All yoga classes, coaching workshops, and scheduled group activities
- Selected group excursions
- Gratuities for retreat venue staff and excursion guides
Not Included (Participant’s Responsibility):
- International flights
- Mandatory travel insurance
- Spa treatments or additional wellness services
- Alcoholic beverages and personal snacks
- Additional excursions or services not planned by retreat leaders
- Passport and visa fees (if applicable)
Participant Responsibilities
By signing up for this Retreat, you agree to the following:
- You are at least 18 years old.
- You are solely responsible for booking and securing transportation to and from Rio de Janeiro (GIG) International Airport.
- Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your arrival in Brazil.
- You are solely responsible for obtaining a Brazilian visa and meeting all entry requirements (including vaccinations, travel documents, and restrictions). Rebel Yoga Retreats is not liable for costs due to denied boarding or entry.
- You must arrive/depart during the designated transfer window to use group transportation, otherwise private transfers are your responsibility.
- You are required to purchase comprehensive travel insurance (details below). It is solely your responsibility to purchase comprehensive travel insurance. Only your insurance provider may reimburse you for non-refundable payments if you must cancel your trip. Cancellations must be claimed through your travel insurance.
- You agree to follow retreat guidelines and respect the local culture, retreat venue, leaders, and other participants.
Physical And Mental Health
By signing up for the Retreat, you attest that you are in good physical and mental health to travel and participate. You are advised to consult a physician before the retreat.
You understand:
- There is no physician on site.
- We cannot diagnose or treat any medical conditions.
- You must disclose any relevant health conditions to the retreat leaders.
- You are responsible for all medical care, transport, and associated costs should you require treatment during the Retreat.
Payment Terms
To secure your place on the Retreat:
- A non-refundable deposit of $1,000 is due at the time of booking.
- Remaining balance is due in two installments:
- December 1, 2026
- February 1, 2027
Failure to make payments on time may result in cancellation of your spot, with all prior payments forfeited.
Refund Policy
- All deposits are non-refundable.
- All payments (deposit and installments) are non-refundable and non-transferable.
- Rebel Yoga Retreats does not provide credits for future retreats.
- If you cannot attend for any reason (including illness, personal emergency, scheduling conflicts, or inability to travel), no refunds will be issued.
- It is solely your responsibility to purchase comprehensive travel insurance. Only your insurance provider may reimburse you for non-refundable payments if you must cancel your trip. Cancellations must be claimed through your travel insurance.
Travel Insurance (mandatory)
All participants are required to purchase comprehensive travel/trip insurance at the time of booking. Your policy must include:
- Minimum medical coverage of at least US$400,000, including emergency medical treatment and hospitalization abroad.
- Medical evacuation and repatriation coverage.
- Coverage for adventure activities and sports included in the retreat itinerary (e.g., hiking, horseback riding, water-based excursions).
⚠️ Important: Rebel Yoga Retreats does not issue refunds or credits under any circumstances. Only your travel insurance provider can reimburse you if you need to cancel, shorten, or otherwise alter your trip.
Please keep a copy of your insurance policy and be prepared to provide proof of coverage when requested.
Cancellation By Rebel Yoga Retreats
In the unlikely event that Rebel Yoga Retreats must cancel or reschedule a retreat, all registered participants will be notified promptly. Guests will be given the choice to:
- Transfer their booking to the new retreat dates or apply payments as a credit toward a future Rebel Yoga Retreat (valid for up to 18 months), or
- Receive a partial refund of all payments made to Rebel Yoga Retreats (minus any transaction or bank processing fees).
Please note: Rebel Yoga Retreats is not responsible for any additional costs incurred by participants, including airfare, travel arrangements, or other personal expenses. This is why comprehensive travel insurance is required.
Minimum Enrollment
Rebel Yoga Retreats requires a minimum of 15 participants to run the retreat. If minimum enrollment is not met by 90 days prior to the beginning of the Retreat, we reserve the right to rebook the retreat. In that case, guests will receive a credit for a future retreat (minus any transaction fees). Rebel Yoga Retreats will not be responsible for costs such as flights or other arrangements.
Force Majeure
In the event of circumstances beyond our control (including natural disasters, political unrest, pandemics, travel restrictions, or other force majeure events), Rebel Yoga Retreats will make every effort to reschedule. Funds will be transferred to a new date, but no refunds will be issued.
Behavior & Code Of Conduct
Rebel Yoga Retreats reserves the right to remove any participant from the retreat, without refund, if their behavior is deemed unsafe, disruptive, or disrespectful to the leaders, local culture, venue, or other participants.
Accommodation Disclaimer
Room assignments are at the discretion of Rebel Yoga Retreats. Special requests will be considered but cannot be guaranteed.
Governing Law
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed under the laws of the State of North Carolina. Venue for any disputes will be in Ann Arbor, MI.
Client Responsibility & No Guarantees
You acknowledge that your results from participating (physical, emotional, spiritual, or otherwise) may vary and that Rebel Yoga Retreats makes no guarantees. Your commitment and participation determine your experience.
Media Release
By signing up, you grant Rebel Yoga Retreats permission to use photographs and videos of you for marketing and promotional purposes. If you do not wish your image to be used, you must notify us in writing prior to the retreat.
Covid-19 & Health Safety Acknowledgement
You understand participation could expose you to communicable diseases including COVID-19. You release Rebel Yoga Retreats from liability related to such exposure, except in cases of gross negligence or intentional misconduct.
Waiver / Release Of Liability
You acknowledge participation involves inherent risks (including but not limited to yoga, hiking, swimming, horseback riding, vehicle transport, excursions, or other activities).
By signing, you:
- Assume all risks (known and unknown) associated with participation.
- Release Rebel Yoga Retreats, its leaders, staff, and affiliates from liability for injuries, illness (including COVID-19), damages, losses, or death.
- Agree to indemnify and hold harmless Rebel Yoga Retreats from claims arising from your participation.
Severability
If any provision of this Agreement is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
By signing below, you acknowledge you have read, understood, and agree to all terms of this Participant Agreement.
